Group Employee Benefits
R.M. Beasley & Associates is a one-stop-shop for the benefits and insurance your employees want and need. We believe employee benefits are an integral part of both the recruitment process and employee retention. We run a comparison report and offer you multiple quotes from various carriers to save you time and money.
We offer more than just insurance! In addition to benefit comparison, we deliver complete benefit communications to all of your employees. We work at building better relationships between employers and their employees through a comprehensive benefits communication strategy.
Benefits Communication: A Win-Win for Employees and Employers
Our Benefits Communication delivery plan includes:
- Group and individual employee meetings: We introduce the benefits program and highlight the benefits available. This can include the employer’s core benefits.
- In-person and/or virtual presentations: We specifically outline the company’s existing benefits information and individual employee information (for the one-on-one meetings). This ensures that all employees receive consistent and updated information, even in multiple or remote locations.
- Personalized benefit statements: We create and provide you with a one-page snapshot of the company’s entire benefits package, including a line-by-line comparison of the costs to both the company and the employee. Employees can then see just how their benefit choices affect their bottom line: their paycheck.
Key Man Insurance
Life and Disability Insurance Plans can be used to replace the loss of a Key Employee due to death or disability.
Buy/Sell Plans (Business Continuation)
These agreements allow for the orderly buyout of a partners’ business interests in the event of a death, disability or retirement.
Executive Bonus Plans
Life Insurance is a creative method that can be used to compensate key employees. Many employers offer employer-paid life insurance to key persons, and premiums paid are tax-deductible to the business.
Deferred Compensation Plans
These plans allow executives to defer current compensation in order to fund additional retirement plans. The following three types of plans are the most common and offer many advantages to both employers and employees:
- Nonqualified deferred compensation plans allow the employer to set aside funds to benefit a select group of highly compensated managers. You can design this type of program for employee pretax salary deferral, employer contributions or both. You can also specify when benefits are to be paid (e.g., after the passage of a certain number of years or at retirement).
- Executive bonus plans can be used to compensate select employees, regardless of their income and position, by paying a cash bonus to the employee or by directly purchasing an investment on the employee’s behalf. The bonus is considered a tax-deductible expense to the employer and taxable compensation for the employee.
- Executive life insurance can be offered to key employees who are highly compensated and often have unique life insurance needs. To protect their families, they need a way to replace their compensation in the event of premature death.
Retirement Plans
The most common retirement plans are 401(k)s, Profit-Sharing Plans, Defined Contribution Plans, and SEPS. A Split-Dollar Agreement is a unique type of retirement plan funded by the employer; premiums, death benefit and cash values can be set up on a “split” basis between employer and employee.

Group life insurance employee benefit products may help provide financial support for families after the death of a loved one.
Many employers provide a basic level of life insurance to employees and offer workers the opportunity to purchase higher levels of coverage at an affordable price. This gives employees access to portable coverage they can keep beyond their current employment situation. Most people need enough life insurance to replace their income for seven to ten years.
Term life coverage is affordable, may not require a physical exam and may be portable. We can help our clients and their employees understand the importance of naming a beneficiary.
Interest-sensitive whole life insurance accumulates cash value that you can borrow from or use to buy a reduced policy with no more premiums due. Universal life coverage offers flexible premiums and the ability to increase or decrease the benefit as your needs change.
Since knowing how much life insurance you need is a critical part of protecting your family, we can help your employees calculate appropriate additional coverage they may need.
Group life insurance typically covers employee for a flat amount or an amount equal to one to three times his/her annual salary, at the employer’s discretion. Additional amounts can be purchased at an additional cost to the employee. Dependents may or may not be covered.

Disability Insurance protects your employees’ most valuable asset – maintaining financial stability when they are not able to work. Disability insurance replaces part of an employee’s income when he or she becomes disabled due to covered illness or injury.
Employers want to ensure productivity and profitability while making certain their employees are in good hands.
Short term disability coverage pays a portion of an employee’s salary when he or she is unable to work for a short period of time (generally from 13 to 52 weeks) due to pregnancy, illness or injury.
Long term disability coverage provides employees with benefits when they are unable to work for a longer period of time. Benefit periods vary, depending on the policy selected. The coverage comes with resources that can assist an employee’s return to work when appropriate.
An Employee Assistance Program (EAP) provides voluntary and confidential services to employees who need help managing personal difficulties or life challenges. Services can include counseling, referrals and support for a wide range of issues, including mental health, substance use and work-related stress. EAPs are often offered at no cost to employees and can be accessed through phone, video or in-person sessions.

Long-term care insurance is the type of care that you may need if you can no longer perform “activities of daily living” by yourself, such as eating, bathing or getting dressed. It also includes the kind of care you would need if you had a severe cognitive impairment like Alzheimer’s disease. Care can be received in a variety of settings, including your own home, assisted living facilities, adult day care centers or hospice facilities.
This care can be covered completely or in part by long-term care insurance. Most plans let you choose the amount of the coverage you want, as well as how and where you want to use your benefits. A comprehensive plan includes benefits for all levels of care, custodial to skilled.
With healthcare spending increasing, prudent financial planning for long-term care insurance is needed. R.M. Beasley & Associates offers plans from a variety of companies. Long-term care (LTC) insurance is available in both individual and group policies.
